Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies through insurance appeals and patient communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Advanced experience with billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
