Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through appeals and documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing and documentation processes
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify coding discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Expertise in electronic claim submission (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or equivalent credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations
