Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and in-person triage using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize emergency cases based on acuity
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR systems
- Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up care coordination
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
- Train triage assistants on standardized assessment protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in emergency triage scales (ESI, MTI)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience with Epic EMR systems preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
