The Role
As our Medical Biller, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of medical claims, ensuring optimal reimbursement for our providers.
Responsibilities
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in the EMR system.
- Accurately code medical services using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit claims to insurance payers (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid) via clearinghouse.
- Follow up on unpaid and denied claims to ensure timely payment.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and send monthly statements.
Qualifications
- Certification such as CBCS, CPC, or CMA is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth experience a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-volume setting.
