Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 99.5% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service
- Resolve billing discrepancies through effective insurance communication
- Maintain patient accounts receivable aging reports and follow-up protocols
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Utilize provided billing software for coding (CPT/ICD-10) and documentation
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve coding and documentation issues
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for insurance payer negotiations
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
