Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and underpayments through appeals and follow-up
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and billing records using provided EHR systems
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with billing regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent) preferred
- Proficiency with medical billing software (we provide equipment and training)
- Deep knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong analytical skills to identify billing discrepancies
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently while meeting productivity targets
