Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate and analyze billing reports for financial reconciliation
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coding accuracy
- Utilize provided EHR systems for documentation and billing
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/hospital settings
- Certification (CPC, CMA, or RHIA) required
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar billing platforms
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial payers
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail with error rates <2%
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
