Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for procedures
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve claim denials efficiently
- Communicate with insurance providers and patients regarding payment issues
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure charge accuracy
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience
- Certification (CPC, CBCS, or CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and reimbursement processes
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
