About the Role:
The Medical Biller acts as the bridge between our clinical staff and insurance payers. You will be responsible for the accurate submission of claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining a healthy revenue cycle. Responsibilities
- Accurately complete and submit medical claims (CMS-1500 and electronic) to insurance carriers in a timely manner.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to the rendering of services.
- Perform daily claims follow-up to identify and resolve unpaid or underpaid claims.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and initiate appeals for denied claims.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies professionally.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with the coding and front office teams to ensure accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a related revenue cycle role.
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
