Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance payers (Blue Cross, United Healthcare, etc.) to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Review patient accounts and insurance policies to resolve billing discrepancies and denials.
- Utilize billing software (EHR/EMR) to track claim status and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal coding standards (ICD-10, CPT).
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and internal healthcare staff regarding billing inquiries.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and improve revenue collection processes.
- Assist in the monthly audit of billing records and financial reports.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Certification (CPC, CPC-H, RHIT, or CCS) is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and claims processing.
- Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
- Deep understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare reimbursement models.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
