Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service rendering
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through effective follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and coding
- Generate monthly revenue reports and analyze collection metrics
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation completeness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification preferred (CPC, CBCS)
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or hospital settings
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Experience with claim scrubbing and denial management
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible schedule availability required (minimum 20 hours/week)
