Responsibilities
- Review and process medical claims (CMS-1500, UB-04) with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Code medical records accurately using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines to reduce denials.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers regarding billing inquiries and statements.
- Identify and resolve denial reasons to maximize reimbursement and improve cash flow.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to maintain up-to-date patient financial records.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, medical coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or NextGen).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding sets.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible, remote-capable environment.
- Certification (CPC, COC, or CBCS) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional on-site meetings.
