Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical records and coding to ensure accuracy before claim submission.
- Submit claims to insurance companies (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Maintain and update patient financial records and billing systems.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing standards.
- Analyze billing data to identify trends and reduce claim denials.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or coding.
- CPC, COC, or CPC-H certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing preferred.
