Responsibilities
- Review medical records and patient charts to ensure documentation supports the services billed.
- Accurately submit and follow up on claims to insurance payers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) using Epic and Oracle Health systems.
- Analyze denied claims to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce denials.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing policies.
- Collaborate with coders and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CPC-A certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficient in EMR/EHR software (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
