In this pivotal role, you will manage patient accounts, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and streamline our billing processes to maximize revenue.
Responsibilities
- Verify and code patient insurance information accurately to ensure timely reimbursement and reduce claim denials.
- Submit clean claims to commercial insurance payers, Medicare, and Medicaid using both electronic and manual billing systems.
- Monitor claim status and follow up diligently on unpaid or denied claims to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Manage patient invoicing, process payments, and post financial transactions to the general ledger.
- Reconcile daily/monthly financial reports and generate aging lists for management review.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and internal compliance policies at all times.
- Collaborate with collections teams to address outstanding balances and patient inquiries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
- Certification (CPC, COC, CEM, or RHIT) is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
