Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical records and charge sheets to ensure accuracy before billing.
- Submit claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Private) using electronic systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denied reimbursements to maximize revenue.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
- Update patient information and financial records in the practice management system.
- Reconcile daily deposits and prepare monthly financial reports.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Billing/Coding preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR software and medical billing platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
