Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) in a timely manner.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies or denials efficiently.
- Generate patient invoices and statements and mail them promptly.
- Assist in the daily reconciliation of accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical billing records and filing systems.
- Collaborate with the front desk team to answer patient billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is a plus (training provided).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (optional, for off-site meetings).
