Responsibilities
- Verify and code medical records with 100% accuracy using ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Submit clean claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) electronically.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeals process to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records and accounts receivable.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries, statements, and payment plans.
- Assist in the monthly financial reporting and revenue cycle analysis.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or related field preferred.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
