Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information and medical records for accuracy.
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance providers (Blue Cross, UnitedHealthcare, etc.) electronically.
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10 and CPT) to diagnoses and procedures.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denials to maximize revenue.
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely payment collections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records in our practice management software.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be willing to undergo our paid training program to learn medical billing standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license is a plus but not mandatory.
