Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies for reimbursement using provided equipment.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Manage the revenue cycle, including posting payments, adjustments, and patient collections.
- Review and resolve denied or rejected claims to ensure timely payment.
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT) and regulatory changes (HIPAA).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Billing or Health Information Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or claims processing.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and billing clearinghouses.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities.
