Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient demographic and financial information for accuracy.
- Submit and follow up on medical claims with various insurance carriers (BCBS, Medicare, etc.).
- Analyze denied or rejected claims and resubmit with necessary corrections.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the EHR system.
- Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations and billing compliance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Certification as a CPC, CMC, or RHIA/RHIT is a plus but not required.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and revenue cycle management software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
