Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before service delivery
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and underpayments within SLAs
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Generate monthly billing reports and reconcile accounts receivable
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding billing discrepancies
- Utilize provided EHR/EMR systems for documentation and coding
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or NextGen)
- Ability to work independently while meeting performance metrics
