- Assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes to patient records
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Resolve billing discrepancies through insurer communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Utilize Epic EHR and billing software systems
- Generate monthly reports for revenue cycle analysis
Qualifications
- No prior medical billing experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (40 WPM)
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to learn medical terminology quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to obtain AAPC certification within 12 months
