Responsibilities
- Accurately complete and submit medical claims (CMS-1500) to various insurance payers.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and gather required documentation prior to services.
- Review and follow up on denied or rejected claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing logs within our EHR system.
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers regarding billing inquiries.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and assist with month-end financial reporting.
Qualifications
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or COC certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
