Responsibilities
- Verify and validate patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services.
- Prepare and submit medical claims to various insurance payers using clearinghouse systems.
- Monitor claim status and conduct proactive follow-up on unpaid or delayed claims.
- Research and resolve denials and rejections to maximize revenue capture.
- Generate patient statements and handle payment collections effectively.
- Collaborate with medical coders and practice managers to ensure billing accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and clearinghouses.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- CPC or COC certification preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
