Responsibilities
- Accurately verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Process medical claims (HCPCS, CPT, ICD-10) and submit to insurance payers electronically.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve account discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal coding standards.
- Collaborate with the billing team to optimize revenue cycle management.
Qualifications
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or medical office administration.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
