Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through appeals and follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and insurance regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure complete and accurate documentation
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze key performance metrics
- Train new staff on billing procedures and compliance standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in Medical Billing (CPC, CBCS, or equivalent) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
