Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage
- Conduct thorough claim denials analysis and appeals management
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership
- Utilize Epic and Cerner EMR systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in ambulatory or hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Medisoft, Athenahealth)
- Strong analytical skills for denial resolution
- Excellent communication abilities for payer negotiations
- Experience with RCM cycle metrics and KPIs
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
