Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims using ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Resolve billing discrepancies with providers and insurance companies
- Generate monthly financial reports and aging reports
- Train new billers on company protocols and software
Qualifications
- Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
- Certification in medical billing (CPC, CMA, or RHIA)
- Proficiency in Epic or NextGen EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
