Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials through appeals and documentation review
- Manage patient billing inquiries with empathy and accuracy
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- 1+ years of medical billing experience (new grads with training welcome)
- Proficiency in billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certification (CPC, CMA, or similar) preferred but not required
