Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 99% accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication with providers and payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and private payer regulations
- Utilize Epic EMR and NextGen billing systems for efficient claim management
- Analyze aging reports to optimize revenue cycle performance
- Train new billers on company protocols and coding standards
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent billing certification required
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or hospital settings
- Expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proven ability to achieve 95%+ clean claim rate
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Proficiency with MS Office and electronic health record systems
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
