Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance payers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Code medical procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials
- Maintain accurate patient billing records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years of medical billing experience
- Proficiency in medical coding systems
- Familiarity with billing software (Epic, Medisoft, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Certification (CPC, CCS-P) preferred but not required
