Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies within strict deadlines
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage details prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through timely follow-up and appeals
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and documentation in EHR systems
- Conduct regular account receivable analysis and aging reports
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure charge capture accuracy
- Stay updated on CMS regulations and payer policy changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR/billing software
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance in all financial operations
- Experience with Detroit Metro area payer networks (Blue Cross, Medicare, Medicaid)
