Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve billing discrepancies
- Process electronic claims and follow up on unpaid balances
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance carriers
- Generate monthly reports for practice financial analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience
- Certification (CPC, CBCS, or CCS-P) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement policies
