Responsibilities
- Verify and code medical records with accuracy using ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Submit and follow up on claims with insurance companies (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid).
- Review and appeal denied claims to maximize revenue recovery.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and insurance documentation in the billing software.
- Analyze financial reports to identify trends and improve billing efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Certification as a CPC, CPC-H, or CMC is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and claims processing.
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and team members.
