- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through proactive follow-up
- Maintain detailed patient records in compliant EHR systems
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and industry coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial analysis
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification (CPC, CCS, or similar) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive PHI data with strict confidentiality
