Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid claims
- Review EOBs and patient statements for payment accuracy
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn medical terminology and coding systems
