Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage
- Resolve billing discrepancies and claim denials
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Utilize EHR systems (Epic/Cerner) for coding and billing
- Analyze accounts receivable reports to optimize collections
- Collaborate with clinical teams for charge documentation
- Stay updated on coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS-P, or CPC-A)
- Proficiency with billing software (e.g., Athena, NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
- Experience with UB-04 and CMS-1500 forms
