Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance providers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and appeals with documentation accuracy
- Conduct regular audits of coding compliance (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge capture completeness
- Generate monthly reports for financial performance analysis
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient data management systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Experience with payer contract interpretation and reimbursement policies
- Ability to meet productivity metrics while maintaining 98% clean claim rate
- High school diploma; Associate's degree in health information technology preferred
