Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through systematic follow-up protocols
- Conduct patient billing inquiries with exceptional service standards
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and insurance regulations
- Utilize Epic and Medisoft EMR systems for claim processing
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Proficient in medical coding and billing software (Epic/Medisoft preferred)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with electronic health records and claim scrubbers
