Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Submit electronic claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Manage denial resolution with 95% first-pass rate target
- Conduct insurance eligibility verification for new patients
- Generate monthly aging reports and AR analysis
- Collaborate with clinical teams for charge capture accuracy
- Stay current with CMS and California Medicaid policy changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in Epic, NextGen, or Athenahealth EHR systems
- Proficiency with Availity, Change Healthcare, and Clearinghouse portals
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage 50+ claims daily with 98% accuracy
- Experience with RCM cycle metrics and KPI reporting
