Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies following CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service
- Resolve claim denials and appeals with meticulous attention to detail
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and identify billing discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Ability to work independently and manage high-volume workflows
