Responsibilities
- Accurately code and verify medical records using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims (HCPCS, CPT, ICD-10) with various payers.
- Monitor claim status and appeal denials to maximize revenue collection.
- Manage patient accounts, including billing inquiries and payment plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and local healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve discrepancies in patient records.
Qualifications
- CPC, RHIT, or RHIA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing or medical coding.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of clearinghouse processes and claim adjudication.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
