Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on claims with insurance carriers (commercial and government).
- Review patient insurance eligibility and verify benefits to ensure proper billing practices.
- Manage patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies and denials efficiently.
- Maintain and update patient medical records and billing documentation in compliance with HIPAA.
- Analyze financial reports to identify trends and improve revenue cycle performance.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their financial responsibility and outstanding balances.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficient knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models and insurance policies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
