Core Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
- Manage high-volume patient scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling via phone and online portals.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and process necessary documentation accurately.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in the EMR system with strict adherence to HIPAA compliance.
- Handle incoming calls, route inquiries appropriately, and triage urgent messages to medical staff.
- Collaborate with billing specialists to ensure timely and accurate revenue cycle management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Administration preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Front Desk Specialist (1+ years preferred).
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and billing basics.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
