Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Answer incoming phone calls with a polite and helpful tone, routing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the practice's calendar using electronic health record (EHR) software.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or balances as necessary.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and electronic correspondence.
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and demographic information.
- Assist with front desk administrative tasks, including inventory management and supply ordering.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in Medical Administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front-office or receptionist role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic scheduling software.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Certification as a Medical Receptionist (CMA) is a strong advantage.
