Responsibilities
- Patient Relations: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in efficiently, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Scheduling: Manage the front desk scheduling system to book appointments, send reminders, and reschedule as needed to optimize provider availability.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments to reduce billing errors and ensure smooth financial transactions.
- Administrative Support: Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, manage email correspondence, and file medical records in a secure, organized manner.
- Front Desk Operations: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and manage inventory for medical supplies and patient materials.
- HIPAA Compliance: Adhere strictly to all health information privacy regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk, reception, or administrative support role.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and practice management software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
