Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome Visitors: Provide a warm and professional welcome to patients, visitors, and vendors upon arrival.
- Manage Patient Intake: Verify patient information, update medical records, and prepare files for healthcare providers.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, manage provider calendars, and coordinate follow-up care via phone and email.
- Front Desk Operations: Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, route calls appropriately, and manage incoming and outgoing mail.
- Insurance Verification: Assist patients with insurance inquiries and verify coverage details as needed.
- Payment Processing: Collect copays and process payments accurately using practice management software.
- Administrative Support: Maintain a clean and organized reception area and assist with inventory management as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant or Front Office Assistant certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative role preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage sensitive patient data with strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and privacy standards.
- Professionalism: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive demeanor.
