Responsibilities
- Front Desk Operations: Greet patients warmly and professionally as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression and checking them in efficiently.
- Appointment Management: Manage the daily schedule, verify patient demographics, and schedule new appointments or reschedule existing ones accurately.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient insurance eligibility and process payments (copays and deductibles) using our practice management software.
- Communication Hub: Answer incoming calls professionally, screen messages, and route them to the appropriate medical staff or take detailed messages.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) systems with new patient information.
- Inventory & Supplies: Monitor front desk supplies and medical inventory, ensuring the reception area is clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, or customer service setting is highly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Experience with specific EHR software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Confidentiality: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and the ability to handle sensitive patient information with strict confidentiality.
- Availability: Reliable attendance and the ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings.
