- Scheduling: Accurately schedule patient appointments, manage the calendar, and send confirmations to ensure no missed opportunities.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and update medical records in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Communication: Handle incoming calls professionally, answer patient inquiries, and route messages to the appropriate medical staff promptly.
- Administrative Support: Assist with basic billing processes, prepare new patient packets, and maintain a clutter-free reception area.
- Customer Service: Address patient concerns with empathy and resolve issues to ensure high patient satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role within the healthcare industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR software and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance knowledge is a plus).
- Organization: Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to manage high volumes of patient traffic during peak hours.
